I get many e-mails from clients asking what is the best wireframe tool to use, and if it’s free, all the better. Here are three great web applications that will help you create wireframes you can use to explain your web application or web design.

Cacoo is a very easy web application tool that allows you to create wireframes in real time. Of all the wireframe tools I’ve used personally, I find that I gravitate towards this web app. It doesn’t mean it’s the best or the greatest, it just means that I prefer it. There’s online collaboration, too. That means you can invite someone to work on the wireframe with you.
Mockingbird is another free, online wireframe creating tool. I really like Mockingbird because it’s simple to use, and it has many premade icons and graphics you can use to drag and drop. There’s a very minimal approach to the application, which I think works quite well.

Another great wireframe tool I think you should check out is Mockflow. This is another online, free application that lets you easily create wireframes inside your own web browser. I found this was the most difficult of the three to use, but that doesn’t mean you may not like it. I’d recommend anyone looking for a great wireframe app to check these three sites out.
What do you do once you have that wireframe created? Why not give it to us, and we can turn that wireframe into a completed design. If you need help creating the wireframe, we can help there too.
